"Charity Begins at Home." That's why the Perkins family of restaurants works with Give Kids The World®, a nonprofit organization that fulfills dream wish vacations to Central Florida for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families from around the World®. This loving, compassionate and nurturing charity embodies so much of what is valued at Perkins: families coming together to make joyous memories. Perkins is dedicated to helping families who need a little extra happiness in their lives make special memories at Give Kids The World Village®.
Give Kids The World® operates a 70-acre, non-profit resort in Central Florida that creates magical memories for these children and their families. Give Kids The World® provides accommodations at its whimsical Village, donated attractions tickets, meals at its Gingerbread House Restaurant and more for a week-long, cost-free fantasy vacation. With the help of many generous individuals, corporations, and partnering wish-granting organizations, Give Kids The World® has welcomed more than 85,000 families from all 50 states and 60 countries.
Perkins has supported Give Kids The World® for more than 15 years. In addition to annual fundraising efforts, our ongoing activities for Give Kids The World® include community-oriented events and specially-marked coin boxes for spare change in the lobbies of most Perkins restaurants. We also operate the Gingerbread House Restaurant located at Give Kids The World Village®. This 200-seat restaurant serves over 200,000 free meals to Give Kids The World® guests each year.
