Give Kids the World and Perkins Restaurant & Bakery
Celebrate Two Million Meals

THE GINGERBREAD HOUSE RESTAURANT, SPONSORED BY PERKINS,
MARKS A MILESTONE

KISSIMMEE, FL, August 4, 2004 -- On Thursday, August 5, Give Kids The World Village (GKTW) and Perkins Restaurant & Bakery will celebrate the two millionth meal served at the 51-acre resort's Gingerbread House Restaurant (GBH). Since the opening of the GBH in November of 1990, visiting Wish Families from around the world have had the opportunity to experience exceptional family style dining, thanks to the immense generosity and support of everyone involved with Perkins.

Currently, 16 full and part time Perkins Restaurant & Bakery staff members operate the GBH, a 300-seat restaurant with trademark peppermint-decorated tables, located in the heart of the Village. The whimsical restaurant also doubled its capacity with the opening of the Cupcake Room in 1999. Thanks to Perkins, over 200,000 free meals are served each year.

"We are so honored to work with Perkins Restaurant & Bakery here at the Village. They have been a tremendous partner to GKTW and have treated our families as members of their very own. The two millionth meal is not only a milestone, but it is a reminder of the hard work, endless dedication and gigantic spirit that we are blessed to witness from them each and every day," said Pamela Landwirth, President of GKTW.

The commemoration of the two millionth meal will celebrate years of excellent food and service by Perkins staff and volunteers which truly demonstrates the earnest commitment shown by our supporters and corporate sponsors. This is a remarkable milestone for the Village, and everyone at GKTW is proud to call Perkins one of our honored Heroes.

Give Kids The World is a 51-acre, non-profit resort for children with life-threatening illnesses whose one wish is to visit Central Florida's best loved attractions.
